Flagship Spied During Highway Testing

The 2018 version of the flagship Audi A8 has been seen on the open highway under heavy camouflage as undergoes testing before its release next year. Armed with a new array of technology, the A8 will feature a driver assistance system that will let it drive itself at speeds below 38 mph. Once you reach your appointed destination, the A8 will park itself as well. Although the technology isn’t quite there for a fully autonomous vehicle, the A8 will have control units installed to accept the hardware and software once they are fully developed. Expect to see the new A8 sometime next year at Audi of Tucson.

New Design Philosophy Features Wider Grille

This is the first Audi vehicle designed from the ground up by Marc Lichte, who unveiled his aerodynamic, sweeping philosophy in the Prologue concept vehicle back in 2014. With a wider grill, angled headlights and skinny LED taillights, the new A8 will look like a larger version of some of Audi’s smaller, sportier offerings. The new A8 is built on the same architecture as the Audi Q7 large SUV, which is also the base for the uber premium Bentley Bentayga SUV. Expect this chassis to deliver a premium ride and dynamic handling.

Infotainment System Debuted at Consumer Electronics Show

Audi unveiled its new Multi Media Interface infotainment system this year at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronic Show. Gone are all the traditional knobs and buttons, replaced by a number of LED screens mounted on the dash. The MMI system integrates all music, including radio, CD and Bluetooth streaming options, with voice recognition navigation and hands free communication. The result is an integrated system that you control by touch or voice, leaving your eyes free to focus on the road.

Powertrain Options Still Undecided

Although VW, parent company of Audi, has a new diesel V8 coming on the market that delivers 400 horsepower and a seat crushing 500 pound feet of torque, there’s a possibility that will initially only be available in Europe. The new Audi A8 sold in North America is more likely to get the 3.0L turbocharged V6 as the standard engine with a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo as an upgrade. Look for the new A8 to have the Quattro all-wheel drive system standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Stay in touch with Audi of Tucson for a definitive date on when the new A8 will arrive.

Audi A4

The Audi A4 has gotten even better. Just when it looked like there was very little room for improvement in this amazing little car, the German automaker has upped the ante. Photos of the 2017 Audi A4 show that this incredible sedan has been completely revamped. It is roomier, has a more powerful gasoline engine, more cutting edge technology, and the interior is more upscale tan ever before. These improvements are sure to make Audi lovers smile and run out a buy the 2017 A4. That’s because it’s better from top to bottom and inside and out.

The Audi A4 has long been one of the most technologically advanced luxury compact sedans on the market. Now with its new transmission and a host of other improvements, the 2017 Audi A4 could end up being head and shoulders above the competition. One of the new optional features being offered on the A4 is called Traffic Jam Assist. This feature enables drivers to relax a little more when they find themselves in stop-and-go traffic. The A4 using Traffic Jam Assist at speeds under 38 mph essentially drives itself. It controls acceleration, braking and steering. It’s a car from the future, and you can see it at Audi Of Tucson.

Another optional feature drivers can get on the 2017 Audi A4 is the virtual cockpit. This system replaces the instrument panel with its myriad gauges with a video-game-like system which only shows the information you want to see on an easily accessible screen. Add standard equipment like Audi’s newly developed automatic forward collision system which not only warns the driver when the car is in danger of a collision with a person or a thing, it activates the brakes automatically. This is sure to put a dent in the number of collisions involving Audi A4s.

The 2017 A4 does all of this while remaining an agile, solid compact car with incredibly responsive handling. Add the available Audi quattro all-wheel drive and the front-wheel drive A4 gets even better traction. Plus its safety features have led the government testers to give the 2017 Audi A4 the maximum 5 stars for front and side collision tests. Plus the company has included new headlights, a new grille, and a number of other subtle changes to make this superbly tailored vehicle even more attractive without looking juvenile.

The price of the A4 has risen slightly, but for that increase owners get a more powerful turbocharged 252 horsepower TFSI engine and a new, more responsive, faster shifting, 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission along with a larger, more comfortable interior, and cutting edge technological advances. Plus there are standard amenities like leather-trimmed seats, three-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED lighting, and a sunroof. These all help to make traveling in the new A4 a more leisurely experience. Drivers can even choose between comfort or dynamic driving modes.

If you’re looking for a safer, more powerful, luxurious, automobile with all the creature comforts and latest technological advances, check out the new Audi A4. The future of driving is here.

Audi A3

Just when you thought Audi couldn’t possibly make their A3 any better comes news the company has updated the A3 with a Virtual Cockpit and added a host of other goodies. The new and improved Audi A3 will be released in Europe in May and in North America sometime after that. The Virtual Cockpit infotainment system holds the menus and controls commonly found displayed in the instrument cluster in the center console. That makes it easier for the driver to have access to them for navigation.

Some of the other upgrades on the A3 include traffic jam assistance which can be a great help to drivers when they find themselves having to navigate in bumper to bumper conditions. Another upgrade is the predictive pedestrian protection system which alerts the driver when the car is in danger of making contact with a pedestrian. Active lane assist has also been added to the A3. This system lets the driver know if the vehicle begin to drift out of its lane. The new A3 offers optional Emergency Assist as well. This is a system which slows the vehicle to a safe stop if no corrective steering is detected after repeated warnings. Reversing is also safer thanks the A3’s new rear cross-traffic assist system. To see it in action, check any Audi out at Audi of Tucson.

The updated Audi A3 looks sportier as well. That’s because of its new fascia in the front and rear and new and improved head and taillights. The headlight have an optional Matrix LED unit. The new A3 also has a sharper grille. The A3 now has sedan, Cabriolet, 5-door Sportback, and three-door models and offers line of sight systems that are the most versatile in the compact segment. Plus the A3 is now available in 12 different colors, 5 of which, Cosmic Blue, Ara Blue, Vegs Yellow, Tango Red, and Nano Gray, have never been offered before.

The new A3 offers six different engines, some with innovative combustion processes and highly efficient cylinder-on-demand technology. Three of the engines run on gasoline while the other three use diesel. That includes a 1.0 liter inline-three. There’s also a hybrid E-tron model, a flex-fuel G-tron model which uses natural gas, and an S3 which produces 310 horsepower and almost 300 pound-feet of torque. But the upgrades don’t end there. There are A3s with dual clutch 7-speed S tronic transmissions, 7-speed S tronic wet clutch transmissions, and 6-speed manual transmissions. Add optional sport suspension and efficient, sensitive electromechanical power steering and the new A3 goes from incredible to truly amazing.

The upgrades to the new Audi A3 are seemingly endless and make it a better car. Those changes include a lightweight, rigid, crashproof body, newly designed heated three-spoke steering wheel, driver seat massage function, quick charging lithium-ion battery, more powerful engines, higher torque, newly designed 16, 17, 18, and 19 inch wheels, climate-neutrally e-gas powered vehicles, bivalent fuels configuration, and of course a Virtual Cockpit.
