Audi Q7 To Get A Facelift

Audi is in the process of making a great automobile even better. The Q7 is already a technologically advanced automobile with a very comfortable, stylish, spacious, infotainment and connectivity-rich interior, excellent performance and an exhilarating driving experience. Now comes word that the German automaker is in the process of improving the way the Q7 looks. Recently obtained spy photos seem to show that the Audi Q7 is going to have an even more attractive new face. The news is enough to make competitors cry ‘foul’. An automobile with superior engineering will now look even better.

What The Spy Shots Show

Talk of the Audi Q7 getting a facelift began to spread in earnest when secret spy shots emerged showing what is obviously an Audi Q7 sporting a dramatically different new face being subjected to some rigorous testing alongside the Audi SQ7, its sporty sibling. Back in the summer, photos showed several different Audi Q7 prototypes sporting redesigned faces being taken through a series of warm weather tests. More recently, determined photographers were able to snag and share photographs of what clearly are Audi Q7s with new faces navigating treacherous snowy conditions next to the sporty Audi SQ7.

The Biggest Visual Changes

While there’s talk about the changes being made to the Audi Q7 under the hood, the spy photos appear to confirm the Audi Q7 has gotten a facelift and work done on its body as well. Part of the reason Audi has long been a leader in the automotive industry is their propensity for being proactive. While buyers still marvel at the style and beauty of the Q7, Audi is already in the process of making it better. The thinly veiled prototypes of the Q7 captured in the spy photos show a redesigned bumper, a new Singleframe grille as well as headlights that look slimmer and have an attractive new shape.

Embracing The Current Design Language

The current version of the Audi Q7 first hit the market in 2015. More recent Audi models have begun to reflect Audi’s new design language. By comparison to its siblings like the company’s flagship Q8, the Audi Q7 is a bit dated. The hinted at changes to the premium Audi SUV will help to modernize it and bring it in line with Audi’s current design language. Making the Q7 match the flagship Q8 in looks reflects Audi’s forward-leaning vision for the lineup.

Changes Inside And Out

Spy photos show a more aggressive-looking SQ7 featuring a more prominent grille, as well as oval exhaust outlets and restyled taillights. The upgrades inside are expected to include the same 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and dual-screen infotainment system now available in the Q8. The Q7s powertrains may also become more powerful. It now features a 252 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline-4 engine which generates 273 pound-feet of torque, as well as a 333 horsepower, 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine delivering 325 lb-ft of torque. The facelifted Audi Q7 may debut as early as March’s 2019 Geneva Motor Show. To see all the changes for the Audi Q7, check one out at Tucson Audi.
